Harkaway is a small family run guest house situated at the foot of the South Downs just ½ mile from the South Downs Way in the beautiful village of Bury. We have 4 bedrooms in total taking up to 6 guests. We offer full English, vegetarian or continental breakfast. Guests have their own entrance and drinks making facilities are freely available. Colour TV in guests dining room. Harkaway is a non- smoking house and is open all year round. Bury is a very tranquil village nestling at the foot of the Downs. It is an ideal location as a base for walking with numerous footpaths just a stones throw away. Many other attractions are within a short drive away, please ask us for further details! It’s the perfect destination for seaside lovers or a week-end away from it all. Felpham village with its Norman Church, also benefits from a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The village is also famous for having been the home of William Blake, the famous writer and poet. Off street parking is available for up to 4 cars. We are a no smoking house. Our accommodation consists of a separate annex adjacent to the main house – this is a large comfortable room with a double and a single bed. There is an en suite bathroom/shower. The room looks out over quiet open countryside. Pets are welcome in the annex. In the main house we have a double room, with its own separate bathroom. Both rooms have a colour TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests can relax in the conservatory at the back of the house, which looks out over the garden and fields. Vicki and Mike, your hosts, offer you a warm and friendly welcome to their Bed and Breakfast. We offer bed and breakfast in a traditional family house, with annexed accommodation for up to 10 guests. The house is set in an acre of garden surrounded by woodland. As members of the English Tourism Council, we are annually inspected for quality plus standard of service, and have been awarded 4 Stars. A full English Breakfast is served in our Victorian style conservatory or dining room overlooking the garden. Special diets can be catered for if requested and a continental breakfast is always available if preferred. Our rooms are clean, spacious and comfortably furnished. They are all equipped with colour TV’s, tea/coffee making facilities, radio alarms, hair dryers and wireless broadband internet access. We have central heating and a Full Fire Certificate. There is plenty of private off road parking with room for trailers and large vehicles as well. Children and pets are always welcome, and our BBQ is available for all. We would like visitors to note that all rooms are non-smoking. Towels are naturally provided in the rooms, but in our effort to be more environmentally friendly (and save on the amount of washing detergents discharged every day) we would like to encourage our guests to bring their own towels if at all possible. There will be a 50p rebate if you do so, but don’t forget to tell us! Unless previously arranged, check in should be between 5pm and 7pm, and check out should be by 10:30am please.
