Burnside Hunting Lodge is home from home and if the weather is inclement, you can return at anytime during the day to relax in the comfort of the house. Burnside Hunting Lodge is a large house on the edge of the village of Port Wemyss on the southern point of the Rhinns of Islay. Overlooking the Island of Orsay and it’s lighthouse, with panoramic views to the west, of the Atlantic Ocean, and to the East, the coastline of Northern Island. Burnside Hunting Lodge is situated in a very beautiful and tranquil part of Islay. There are two twin bedded rooms and two double bedrooms each with its own private bathroom. We have a large t.v. lounge, a bar room with a pool table and two dining rooms, all furnished to a high standard of comfort. There is also a private garden in which to relax and enjoy the water features. You can choose from Bed and Breakfast, to Full Accommodation with evening meal if you book in advance. A warm welcome to High Cliff, a victorian house set in beautiful grounds that has been established as Bed & Breakfast for over 100 years. 2008 sees High Cliff fully refurbished under new management adding a touch of modern elegance to the historic texture High Cliff offers king size double and twin accommodation. All rooms are en-suite with the exception of the twin bedroom which has a private bathroom next door and bathrobes are provided. All rooms are equipped with colour TV, radio alarms, WiFi Internet access, ironing and hairdryer facilities, a bountiful hostess tray is in each room along with bottled water. While the house is non-smoking (as required by Scottish legislation) our guests are welcome to smoke in the patio area, and all guests are welcome to sit in the patio or by our small pond and may use the BBQ in the long summer evenings, you may even be lucky to get a glimpse of the red squirrels that frequent the wooded area on the cliff. Ample parking facilities are available and those sailing on the Chalice Cruise are welcome to leave their car for a small charge per day (if there is a space available). Breakfast served 8am till 9.30am. Continental breakfast is available for early ferry passengers. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
