Riverdale Hall Hotel lies on the banks of the North Tyne salmon river, on the outskirts of the small market town of Bellingham, Northumberland. With southerly views over its own cricket field, and Dunterley Fell (part of the Pennine Way), it is situated in the hilly and rugged fells of the Northumberland National Park. Nearby are Kielder Water and Kielder Forest, and of course Hadrian's Wall. This is indeed walking, fishing and sporting country.
Originally built as a Victorian Mansion for a leading railway developer in 1866, the present owners, the Cocker family, purchased the hotel from Lord Strafford in the late 1970s and have tastefully converted it into one of Northumbrias most outstanding Country House Hotels.
All hotel bedrooms at Riverdale Hall are well appointed with en-suite bathrooms, shower, colour TV, telephone, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Some of the bedrooms are equipped with luxurious four poster beds, whilst others are designated as family rooms, and can accommodate additional beds as required.
The ground floor rooms in the Museum wing are popular with those who find stairs difficult.
Riverdale Hall is Northumberland's premier country house hotel, providing extensive sporting and leisure facilities. With an award winning restaurant, swimming pool, sauna, cricket field and salmon river in its own delightful grounds.
Riverdale Hall Hotel is situated in a beautiful, tranquil setting, a short riverside walk to the small town of Bellingham - gateway to Northumberland National Park, near Hadrian's Wall and Kielder Water and Forest, just some of the county's major tourist attractions.
