Carmarthenshire is known as The Garden of Wales; and for good reason; we are only 10 minutes from the National Botanical Gardens of Wales and Aberglasney House and Gardens. You will find the South Carmarthenshire Coast ; Tenby and Saundersfoot and the Cardigan Coast easily reached. The nearest coast; Llanstephan; a delightful village with a castle and lovely cliff walks; is only twelve miles away. All within reasonable distance for a day out are the Other attractions are the Woolen Mills; Golf; Pony Trekking; many old castles and a spectacular reservoir 'Llyn Brianne' set in some magnificent countryside; and easy access to the Wales GB rally.

The hotel has a short stretch of Salmon fishing and arrangements can be made for guests to fish on other private and club waters. Fishermen welcome; permits sold for cross hands water as well as our own stretch of private fishing available to guests only.

The Hotel is comfortably furnished and well decorated. There is full central heating and all the bedrooms have private ensuite bathrooms; colour TV; and tea making facilities. The Hotel is open throughout the year and many locals visit the Restaurant and Bar creating a lively and friendly atmosphere.

Plenty of parking for guests and free wifi. We even have a landing for helicopters.

AccessThe property is accessed from an unmade farm track of 0.5 milesdistance from the road.Luggage can be unloaded outside the house. Guests will be assisted with their luggage.Parking is 20 metres from the house.There is a step of 10cm from the parking area, which is laid to stone, on to a level path to the house.The entrance into the house (width 93cm) has two steps of 20cm and 25cm.All other doors are 95cm in width except door into bathroom which is 71cm.There are 17 steps to the upstairs each of 18cm high.There is a lip into the shower of 40cm.As there is only one bus through the village each day and none on Sunday it is advisable for guests to have their own transport.

Our l8th Century home is a stone built former millers cottage and was extended some years ago. It lies in 14 Acres and is bounded by two rivers, the Afon Cywyn and Nant Cynnen where small native Brown & Sea Trout will be seen. Although in a quiet and idyllic setting, we are in an ideal position for visiting Countryside and Coast. Bedroom1 This is a twin room en suite – consisting of toilet/basin and shower of excellent quality. Bedroom 2 This is a twin room with its own private bathroom – newly fitted to a very high standard. Both rooms have tea/coffee facilities/television/hairdryer. Comfortable beds and excellent furnishings. Views of the lake. On many nights, you will hear the owls calling to each other. Visitors Lounge This room has excellent quality furniture, colour television, and video. There is an open fire, which may be lit when required and an abundance of literature available of places to visit and see. Dining Room This looks out on to one of the lakes, and while enjoying your choice of cooked breakfast or lighter choice of yogurt and fruit, cereals/fruit juices/tea/coffee/chocolate, you will be able to watch the numerous birds feeding including woodpeckers. Garden Area There is a large patio on which to enjoy your breakfast, weather permitting or to relax in the evening. Fields to stroll around the two rivers, which surround us. Ample Parking. Fern Hill Orchard is a friendly, family run BandB situated in the unique ancient township of Laugharne, whose many customs date back to the 12th century. Sleepy, timeless seatown on sandy fringes of Carmarthen Bay made famous by Dylan Thomas. We serve delicious, locally sourced food with an interesting variety of special. There is a separate games room with pool table and darts board. Families are well catered for and there is an indoor amusement arcade for the children. We are geared towards customers needs and will accommodate where we can and have had much success with family occasions. Comfortable accommodation is also available and we are the ideal base to explore the beautiful Welsh countryside!
