The Jolly Sailor is one of the oldest pubs in the Country in fact it is featured in a wills cigarette card collection called 40 oldest inn's. Affectionately Known as the "JOLLY" By the locals over the centuries, since 1516, it has been a place of rest and recreation for seafarers and travelers alike. Until about 120 years ago sea vessels used to moor right alongside the old part of the building, until land was reclaimed allowing for cottages adjacent to the pub to be built. The Jolly has now been refurbished to a very high standard by the present landlord, so much so that it has been said it now has the best accommodation in Looe. The main beam in the Jolly has come from a French ship of the line at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Four rooms have spacious en-suite facilities. Greystone Pool is a family run bed & breakfast concern located in a lovely rural location in South East Cornwall, just 5 minutes drive from the very popular resort of Looe and even less from the famous old smuggling village of Polperro. Dependant on availability, there are standard (shared bathroom) and ensuite rooms. All the rooms are central heated with double glazing, are tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Standard rooms are equipped with hand basins, shaver points, remote TV, clock radio alarms and have country views. All ensuite rooms also have country views and are equipped with Freeview TV and our deluxe and superior ensuites also have DVD / CD players. A selection of films are available, at no extra charge. Although we have never permitted smoking inside the accommodation, we have always allowed our guests to smoke outside under cover. However as of 1st July 2007, this may be a grey area as legislation may even deem that outside the front door is a public area. Welcome to Sea Breeze, a comfortable, well furnished non-smoking guest house situated in the heart of the old town of East Looe. Our guests can expect a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Although the house is in a quiet, almost traffic-free street, it is ideally located on level ground just 50 yards from the sea and 100 yards from the harbour and town centre. The bedrooms are mostly en-suite, furnished in co-ordinating fabrics and all contain colour televisions, clock radio alarms, hairdryers and a selection of paperbacks. Tea, coffee, drinking chocolate and Horlicks are provided. Room rates are from:- £21 per night for a Standard Room; or £126 per week. £26 per night for En-suite rooms; or £156 per week. (Based on 2 sharing) Breakfast consists of orange juice and cereals followed by a full grill of egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and fried bread (or any combination of these). Alternatively, we can serve a vegetarian selection. Evening meals are not provided. Within 250 yards level walk from the House there are 20 or more cafes, restaurants and pubs providing anything from pasties, fish and chips, snacks, roasts, Italian, Indian, Chinese and haute cuisine. We will be happy to offer advice and recommend our favourites. Car Parking is not available on the premises. However, we rent two spaces for guests on the seafront residents car park, 30 yards away. These are available on a "first come, first served" basis throughout the year, at a modest charge. Other parking is always available in East and West Looe.
