Bay View House is a delightful Victorian house built around the turn of the 20th century, located in a marvellous position overlooking Lynmouth, harbour, the village and bay. We have what can arguably be described as one of the best views in Lynmouth! Stretching across the bay to South Wales on a clear day. We have three high quality en-suite rooms, recently refurbished to a very high standard with comfort in mind. One spacious bedroom has a 6ft bed or it can be a twin bedded room, with spacious ensuite bathroom, all the rooms have colour LCD digital televisions, radio/cd alarm clocks, beverage making trays hair driers and thoughtful extras to make your stay a little more special. All of our rooms enjoy stunning sea views over the harbour, Lyn river, and Bristol channel to Wales. You will even wake up to the sound of the sea coming in to the harbour. Guests have use of a small lounge area in the dining room, where you can read a book, enjoy a pot of tea, or marvel at the view. We also serve breakfast and dinner in the dining room at separate tables. Our food is our speciality and we offer quality home cooked meals cooked in our own kitchen by Mark resident proprietor and chef, with over 20 years cooking experience. We use local produce as much as possible for our meals, all dinners are cooked fresh everyday for your enjoyment. Although we are not licensed, you are welcome to bring your own wines and drinks, we will supply glasses for you, and chill any wine for you, we do not charge a corkage charge for this. Hillside House is a beautiful building dating from the 1790s; though parts of it are much older. According to local tradition it was once a dairy; and the oldest part may date from as early as the 1400s. It is listed (Grade II) as a building of historical interest. The building has been used as a bed and breakfast since the 1940s.Situated on the East Lyn river at Lynmouth; our guest house is ideally suited both to the needs of walkers or those of a less strenuous disposition. We are 400 yards from the South-West Coast Path it is the perfect position to explore an abundance of coastal; riverside and woodland scenery: rugged cliffs; secluded bays; the Exmoor moorland; the Doone valley; Porlock and Watersmeet. Have a Or a gentle stroll around the village itself with its enchanting harbour; quaint fishing cottages and interesting shops. If you prefer you can take a boat trip from the harbour; along the Heritage Coast; or go up the water-powered cliff railway to Lynton and visit the Valley of Rocks.Like many old buildings it has settled a bit and you will fail to find any walls or floors which are straight or corners which are perfectly square. For many of our guests this is part of its charm. The dιcor sympathetically combines many original features with bright; tasteful colours and period furniture. Each room has a television; hair-drier; tea/coffee making facilities and either en-suite or private bath/shower room. Double; twin or single rooms are available.
