Situated on the foothills of the South Downs, the hotel offers peace and tranquillity in the beautiful countryside on the Sussex Hampshire border. Although today the area has easy access to Gatwick and Heathrow airports and, by road or rail, to London and the south coast, it is still very much a farming community.

It is ideal walking country, and for guests who want to forget their cars for a while and take to the Sussex byways, there are many delightful villages with ancient churches, manor houses and pubs within a few miles of the Southdowns. There are also wonderful walks on the South Downs with far reaching views of the villages nestling at the foot of the Downs. There are plenty of places of interest further a field; Goodwood with its racecourse and historic house; Petworth with its antique shops and Petworth House, ancestral seat of the Wyndhams; the cathedral towns of Chichester and Winchester.

Originally a small manor house, built in the early 1600's, it has been added to over the years, with major additions in 1842. Langrish House is owned and run by Nigel and Robina Talbot-Ponsonby whose aim is to combine the advantages of a modern hotel with the comforts of a family home. Every room enjoys beautiful views over the extensive grounds. They are comfortable and well appointed and all have ensuite bathrooms, television, central heating and IDD telephones.

We look forward to welcoming you to Petersfield and Border Cottage, a grade II listed 16th century cottage in the centre of the attractive market town of Petersfield, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Stretch out and relax in our large ensuite bedroom (twin or double bed) which is full of character and well equipped, including silent running mini fridge, flat screen digital Sony tv and Wi-Fi. Our ensuite shower room is newly refurbished including power shower. We use high quality organic produce for our breakfasts with eggs, jam and honey produced locally. Within a 2 minute walk of excellent restaurants, pubs and a short walk from the railway station you'll find all the charm of a country cottage with the benefit of a pretty market town. The location ideally suits guests who are visiting this lovely area for pleasure or who are on business here. Charge for single occupancy is just £45 per night bed and breakfast.
