Welcome to The Thatched Cottage, a Four Star, Grade II listed building built in the 15thC and set in the beautiful Mendip countryside. The building has been fully renovated with a minimalist style and light, airy rooms. Our rooms feature new oak floors, and have bathrooms with Italian slate tiling. We also serve delicious home cooked food in our restaurant, which was awarded an AA rosette in January 2007.

Ideally situated, we are close to many of the local attractions. The Bath & West Showground is less than 2 miles away, and Wells Cathedral City, Longleat, Cheddar Gorge and Castle Carey station are all less than 10 miles away. If travelling further afield, we are 18 miles from Bath and 20 from Bristol. Of course there are also the numerous walks around the Mendip countryside right on our doorstep.

The Restaurant/Bar The Bars are open from 11am - 11 pm Sun - Thurs and 11 am - 12 midnight Fri & Sat. with a wide selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks always including at least one Real Ale, but more normally between 2 -3 to choose from The Restaurant serves Breakfast from 7am - 10.30am daily, and then opens for lunch at 11am, staying open and serving a full main menu throughout the day until 10.30pm at night. The restaurant serves a traditional, home cooked menu with locally sourced produce wherever possible. The Pub The Pub is set in fantastic surroundings, with views over the valley, over looking the bath and west showground. Prestleigh is a small village 2 miles south east of Shepton Mallet Somerset in England.
