On a warm evening it is pleasant and relaxing to sit in the garden with a glass of wine or cup of coffee and watch the bats as they swoop out for their evening meals.
The countryside around Fitzhead is the beautiful West Somerset hills, with interesting and diverse walks, up hill and through wooded country, around lakes and ponds. There is a great deal of varied wildlife to be seen on even the most casual of strolls, including badgers, foxes and deer. Buzzards are commonly to be seen wheeling overhead, with pheasants and partridge roaming the lanes and fields. Rabbits, of course, are a local menace and hares not uncommon.
