Alconbury is our elegant, 5 Star Silver award winning Edwardian family home. It is situated within a peaceful conservation area and is only a short walk from the centre of Tunbridge Wells with its superb shops and restaurants, mainline railway station and the historic Pantiles. The interior of the house is luxurious, spacious and in period style with antique furniture, old prints, polished floors and open fireplaces. There is a pretty south facing garden with a sun terrace which our guests are welcome to use and where you can enjoy a cream tea (by prior arrangement) Our aim is to make your stay with us as memorable as possible. With prior notice we should be able to meet most requests. Should you be celebrating we would be happy to provide flowers and chocolates in your room. We have three bedrooms we can offer our guests. There is a colour television and DVD player in each room as well as a hostess tray, an ironing board, a hairdryer and a fan. A selection of DVDs is available for guests to borrow. All our rooms have central heating and are kept spotlessly clean and tidy, a pre-requisite for our 5 star SILVER rating. We offer a wide choice of food at breakfast which is served in our elegant dining room. Alternatively, if you only require a light breakfast, we would be happy to serve it in your room. Wherever possible we use organic produce and there are many healthy options on the menu. We also offer light evening snacks which you may have in your room if you wish. An overnight laundry service is available for a modest charge. The atmosphere is very relaxed and guests are free to come and go as they please. Check in time is by arrangement and check out time is by 11 am. Swan Cottage is a pretty house built in 1810 and situated in a quiet backwater in the centre of the old ‘Village Area’ of Tunbridge Wells. The tastefully decorated accommodation occupies the whole of the top floor of the cottage and consists of a double bedded room that can also be used as a twin with an en-suite bathroom and a single room with its own private bathroom.. The Beacon offers Four Star accommodation set in a 19th Century building complete with stained glass windows on the attractively wooded Tea Garden Lane. It features magnificent views over our 17 acres of land and the surrounding countryside, views which have barely altered since a Victorian guide book observed it to be 'as beautiful as any England affords'.

Ideally located a 5 minute taxi ride from the station, we are within easy walking distance of the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells. The delightful town of Grimbridge is 15 minutes drive, Penshurst Place 20 and Hever Castle ½ an hour.

We are a perfect base for golf, cycling or fishing fans, with the nearest golf course 2 miles away and several more within 20-30 minutes. Fishing is possible in any one of the lakes on our grounds.

The Beacon is well known in Tunbridge for its excellent restaurant offering modern English/European cuisine, and is a member of Kentish Fair, with all food locally sourced where possible. Guests can relax on our outside decking area in the summer, or by log fires in the oak paneled bar in the winter.

Alternatively, take a walk through our grounds complete with a large treehouse for the children, woodland walks, wildlife, lakes and one of the few genuine ‘chalybeate’ springs left in England.

Danehurst House is the large Victorian home of Angela and Michael Godbold, situated 1.5 miles west of the historic spa town Royal Tunbridge Wells; where a welcoming atmosphere is combined with individual attention and good home cooking.

The drawing room and pretty conservatory/breakfast room offer the best of hospitality, and food is a special consideration. Full English breakfast is served, but as an alternative fish, cold meats, cheese or continental breakfast can be ordered.

Dinner is not available at Danehurst, however we can recommend local pubs and restaurants, some within walking distance and we would be happy to make a reservation for you
