Alconbury is our elegant, 5 Star Silver award winning Edwardian family home. It is situated within a peaceful conservation area and is only a short walk from the centre of Tunbridge Wells with its superb shops and restaurants, mainline railway station and the historic Pantiles.

The interior of the house is luxurious, spacious and in period style with antique furniture, old prints, polished floors and open fireplaces. There is a pretty south facing garden with a sun terrace which our guests are welcome to use and where you can enjoy a cream tea (by prior arrangement)

Our aim is to make your stay with us as memorable as possible. With prior notice we should be able to meet most requests. Should you be celebrating we would be happy to provide flowers and chocolates in your room.

We have three bedrooms we can offer our guests. There is a colour television and DVD player in each room as well as a hostess tray, an ironing board, a hairdryer and a fan. A selection of DVDs is available for guests to borrow. All our rooms have central heating and are kept spotlessly clean and tidy, a pre-requisite for our 5 star SILVER rating.

We offer a wide choice of food at breakfast which is served in our elegant dining room. Couples who wish to enjoy breakfast in peace may eat in the bay window of our living room, overlooking the garden.

Alternatively, if you only require a light breakfast, we would be happy to serve it in your room. Wherever possible we use organic produce and there are many healthy options on the menu. We also offer light evening snacks which you may have in your room if you wish.

An overnight laundry service is available for a modest charge.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and guests are free to come and go as they please. Check in time is by arrangement and check out time is by 11 am.

Tunbridge Wells is also a perfect base from which to explore the many beautiful gardens and castles in Kent. London is only 50 minutes away by train and the service runs every half hour.

The south coast with its swimming beaches and cliff top walks is just 35 minutes away by car. Go for the day and take a picnic – we can prepare a hamper for you.
