Description
Bay View House is a delightful Victorian house built around the turn of the 20th century, located in a marvellous position overlooking Lynmouth, harbour, the village and bay. We have what can arguably be described as one of the best views in Lynmouth! Stretching across the bay to South Wales on a clear day.
We have three high quality en-suite rooms, recently refurbished to a very high standard with comfort in mind. One spacious bedroom has a 6ft bed or it can be a twin bedded room, with spacious ensuite bathroom, all the rooms have colour LCD digital televisions, radio/cd alarm clocks, beverage making trays hair driers and thoughtful extras to make your stay a little more special.
All of our rooms enjoy stunning sea views over the harbour, Lyn river, and Bristol channel to Wales. You will even wake up to the sound of the sea coming in to the harbour.
Guests have use of a small lounge area in the dining room, where you can read a book, enjoy a pot of tea, or marvel at the view. We also serve breakfast and dinner in the dining room at separate tables.
Our food is our speciality and we offer quality home cooked meals cooked in our own kitchen by Mark resident proprietor and chef, with over 20 years cooking experience. We use local produce as much as possible for our meals, all dinners are cooked fresh everyday for your enjoyment.
Although we are not licensed, you are welcome to bring your own wines and drinks, we will supply glasses for you, and chill any wine for you, we do not charge a corkage charge for this. Bay View House has private parking for all guests cars.

Attractions
There is so much to do in the area, why not take a ride on the world famous water operated cliff railway travelling up to Lynton, the views from the trip on the railway are truly breathtaking!
Lynton has a variety of shops, post office and health centre, tea rooms and restaurants and the Tudor style town hall. At the side of the town hall there is Lyntons own cinema which shows all the latest films.
You may wish to walk to the spectacular setting of the valley of rocks, which is about a mile walk from Lynton, you may well meet some of the herd of goats that live in the valley, it is a beautiful walk to the valley of rocks, you can access it via Holliday hill, which runs at the side of the town hall, or you can go via North Walk which runs at the side of the Valley of rocks hotel near to St. Marys Church.
No visit to Lynton and Lynmouth would be complete without a visit to Watersmeet, this famous beauty spot lies in a wooded tree lined gorge, where the East lyn river and Hoar Oak water meet, now owned and maintained by the National Trust.
The old fishing lodge at Watersmeet is now a lovely tea room and shop, a welcome refreshment break after your walk. The best time to walk to Watersmeet is after a heavy spell of rain when you will see the fast flowing river and waterfalls.
