Description
This well appointed, idyllic Tudor farmhouse is Grade-2-Listed and set in a picturesque rural setting surrounded on all sides by rolling fields and meadows where roe deer are frequently seen. Public footpaths are close to the house.

It is a half-timbered house with extensive southerly facing gardens rich with birdlife, which provides wonderful, safely fenced country fun and freedom for children and relaxation for adults. The parlour wing of this medieval farmhouse (mentioned in Pevsner's book of Suffolk) dates back to 1550 the rest is thought to be earlier.

The house is laid out over three floors, with all rooms beamed. There is a log fire and a baby grand piano in the diningroom and a delightful drawing room both with flat T.Vs, as are there in all the bedrooms, and there are two DVD players to happily cater for differing tastes in a large group.

The young and sporty could have fun playing table tennis tournament in the games/gym room or outdoors on the giant trampoline.

The enclosed courtyard is ideal for outdoor meals in the summer and has direct access to the well-equipped kitchen.

Catered evening meals can be arranged or Chinese and Indian meals delivered.

Wedding Venue: Haughley Park Barn 1/2 mile up the road. Stay here, marry at ancient Wetherden Church or Haughley Park. You can hold your reception at Haughley Park Barn - book well ahead!

First floor: All bedrooms on both floors have a flatscreen TV. 2 DVD players

Two twin-bedded rooms; one huge with additional single beds (for +2), and an en-suite bathroom/W.C. with a shower.

One single bedroom has a close by bathroom/W.C. with electric shower, fireplace and tiled floor.

Second floor: Delightfully beamed vaulted twin-bedded room with additional single beds (for +2).

Laundered white sheets throughout and cleaning by professionals.
Attractions
There are 2 leisure centres in close towns and many stately homes to visit amid the great and varied delights of Suffolk.

A beach hut could be used in Felixstowe only 25 minutes drive away.

The enclosed garden in the summer has a spectacular display of clematis and roses and is rich with birdlife. A peaceful writer's retreat. A croquet set is available for garden entertainment.

The nearby village of Haughley (a walk over fields via public footpath, or 2-minute drive) has a post office, well-stocked grocery shop, excellent restaurant and a catering pub.

Stowmarket lies a mere 3 miles distant and is home to the Museum of East Anglian Life.

Close by is beautiful Bury St Edmunds, with its great cathedral, multiple restaurants and theatre.

Cambridge with famous ancient colleges and punting on the River Cam is only a 30 minutes' drive and Stowmarket commuter train to London is a mere 10 minutes' drive.

Norwich is 30 minutes by hourly train. The seaside resort of Felixstowe is 30 minutes and Ipswich a 15 minutes' drive with sailing on the River Orwell.

Golf can be found at all the mentioned towns - the closest being 15 minutes' drive.

Many National Trust houses are open and make interesting days out and Stowmarket has a super leisure centre with swimming-pool, gymnasium, tennis etc and playworld for tinies' fun.

Wetherden has a new hard tennis court and club. There is a swimming and leisure centre also at Bury.

Southwold by the sea and Aldeburgh are within easy reach and make for a pleasant day out. Snape Maltings near Aldeburgh is famous for its annual arts festival instigated by the composer Benjamin Britten.

One of Suffolk's most visited villages is Lavenham, thanks to its unrivalled ensemble of perfectly preserved half-timbered houses. Little has changed for many centuries due to careful preservation.
