Description
Comfortable modern detached house in a quiet cul-de-sac, on the edge of the peaceful village of Portesham, West Dorset. Situated in a secluded water garden, which for many years opened in the National Gardens Scheme.
The two comfortable bedrooms both overlook the running stream, sourced from a local spring. One is a double with en-suite and the other is a double bedroom which has a separate private bathroom. Both have hot drink facilities, colour TV, hair dryer and central heating. Dutch is spoken.
The garden was designed and built by Geoffrey Northcote in 1987-88, the previous owner of Bridge House. He is a well known garden designer in the south of England (over seventy GN gardens in Dorset), is an acknowledged authority on Japanease gardens and lectures extensively.
Until recently the garden was opened in the National Gardens Scheme.
Guests at Bridge House are welcome to use any part of the garden as they may wish during their stay with us. There is a general patio and two very different secluded sitting-out areas.
There is also a dedicated under cover area in our Garden for guests wishing to smoke.

Attractions
The village of Portesham is situated 8 miles from Weymouth and Dorchester and 12 miles from Bridport.
There are glorious walks on the surrounding hills overlooking the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline of Chesil Beach & Portland and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
We are within 300 metres of the village pub/restaurant, the garage, the shop, the church, the post office and the medical centre.
To the west the historic village of Abbotsbury lays just two miles away and features the famous Swannery and Sub Tropical Gardens.
To the north are the heights of Black Down, upon which the memorial column of Thomas Masterman Hardy (Nelsons Captain) stands 240 metres above sea level. From here there is a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside and coastline. We serve a generous breakfast from a varied menu.
