Description
Originally a maltings, Carols Bed & Breakfast is a privately owned house in a listed building conversion in the village of Newton of Falkland. Located beneath the East Lomond Hill, we are within a mile of Falkland Palace in the centre of the Kingdom of Fife.
We are centrally situated for many excellent golf courses, cycling routes and walking trails up hills or through forests.
Within an hours drive you can be amongst the beautiful Scottish lochs, glens and towering munros, hill walking, canyoning or white water rafting or just quietly enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and exploring the history in the castles and palaces.
We offer a double and a family bedroom with en-suite facilities. Each room has a courtesy tray, hair dryer, TV and radio, information leaflets and books.
A hearty, healthy breakfast can be enjoyed at the family dining table at a time to suit.
There are restaurants and pubs serving meals within a 15-minute walk. However, home-cooked evening meals using local produce when available can be provided by prior arrangement, as can packed lunches.
We look forward to welcoming you!

Fife has one of the UK's most comprehensive cycle routes. Explore 300 miles (500km) of cycle route along quiet country lanes, disused railway lines and forest tracks as well as commuter routes in towns. www.Fife-Cycleways.com
Falkland has been a royal place since the days of the Stewarts. King James II adopted it as a royal home (it had earlier been a castle of the MacDuff family) and it was used as a hunting lodge in the 12th century. In those days the Forest of Falkland had stags and wild boar and falconry was a popular sport. www.RampantScotland.com
St Andrews holds a special place in Scotland's history. It takes its name from the Apostle whose relics, legend tells us, were brought to this place in antiquity by St Rule.
Scotland later adopted St Andrew as her patron saint and took his saltire cross for her flag. For many visitors, though, it's a game that draws them here, for St Andrews is the home of golf, the sport having been played here for some 600 years. www.Visit-StAndrews.co.uk
