Description
The farm was first recorded in the Doomsday Book. A 16th century farmhouse and barn still remains and is now a grade 2* listed building.
The present 150 year old farmhouse has been sympathetically renovated providing spacious en-suite rooms, with all modern facilities, yet still retains old world charm and character, with inglenook fireplaces and exposed timbers.
A substantial 'Devon' breakfast is served using fresh farm and garden produce. Relax in the lounge or conservatory, wander through the gardens or walk off those extra calories, we have 25 acres of pasture and woodland to explore. You will be rewarded with fine views over the River Exe, and the comings and goings of the house martins and swallows can be viewed from on high. Buzzards, pheasants, foxes and deer are regularly to be seen.
Just relax and enjoy our hospitality!
Attractions
You could visit the nearby thatched village of Bickleigh, with it's castle, mill, railway centre and much photographed 14th century bridge.
The local inns offer good food at reasonable prices, and the market town of Tiverton has an interesting museum, castle and canal with horse drawn barge to see. Mid Devon is a mecca for those interested in heritage and historic houses; Killerton, Knightshayes, and Fursdon are all within 15 minutes drive.
Finially gardeners are well catered for with many local gardens open under the yellow book scheme.
