Description
A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at Gallen-Treath. The guest house, established in 1965, is ideally situated with a panoramic view of both the sea and countryside.
We specialise in traditional English breakfasts and offer a tasty Vegetarian alternative using many local ingredients. Enjoy your meal whilst looking out over the village of Porthallow and the Falmouth Bay to St. Mawes, the St. Anthony lighthouse and beyond to Dodman Point.
We offer an upstairs lounge for your relaxation, or you are welcome to step out onto the balcony and breathe in the fresh sea air. A patio area and small garden are available during the summer months where you may wish to sit and observe the multitude of birds feeding in the garden, or simply watch the world go by.
All our bedrooms are en-suite and individually decorated with colour televisions, tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary biscuits.
Evening meals are available if requested in advance when reserving your accommodation. Fine cuisine can also be experienced in Porthallow at the Five Pilchards Inn, nearby St. Keverne, and other good restaurants and pubs on the Lizard.
If you have special dietary or accommodation requirements, please let us know and we will endeavour to provide this.
Attractions
A short drive will take you to Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Europe's leading marine animal rescue centre, or you may prefer the largest Satellite Station on Earth at Goonhilly. Cornwall is steeped in history and if this is your interest, you will not be disappointed - tour the tin mines, mull over a museum, or follow the fortunes of the "free traders" (smugglers!) The area also offers beaches, diving facilities, gardens and art galleries - in fact we have something for everyone!
We are open all year round, so we look forward to greeting you whatever the season!
