This charming 3 star Country House Hotel is set within two acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. Since it was built in 1643, Helme Park Hall has had a range of occupants and functions. Previously a distinguished family home, later the residence of Colonel Stobart Commandant of the nearby Second World War Prisoner of War Camp, and more recently Regional Headquarters of the Forestry Commission
Only twenty minutes away from the ancient and historic city of Durham, the hotel is ideally located to benefit both the town goer as well as the country lover for whom the peace and tranquility of the English countryside can be taken full advantage of. Perched on the side of the Wear Valley with fabulous panoramic views of the Durham Dales, Helme Park Hall offers seclusion yet at the same time accessibility from the nearby A68.
