Llys Aeron (also spelled Llysaeron) Guest House has been awarded 4 stars by the Wales Tourist Board and is among the most sought-after bed and breakfast establishments in Aberaeron, west Wales.

Built in the early 1800s, Llysaeron is one of the oldest and most substantial stone-built houses in this beautiful Georgian harbour town on the west Wales coast and is ideal for a weekend or mid-week break, or longer.

Breakfast is made with local ingredients where possible. For example we use local organic free-range eggs, organic locally made bread and locally produced bacon and sausages. Vegetarian diets are always catered for and we will happily make sure you do not miss out on a hearty breakfast if you want one. Restricted and vegan diets can also be accommodated, please let us know in advance though.

All rooms have the normal tea and coffee making facilities including herbal and fruit teas, hot chocolate, biscuits and welsh mineral water. They also have television and a stereo / radio, independently controlled central heating and all are en-suite.

There is ample off-street parking available, and we have a secure basement in which we can store bicycles, fishing equipment etc. We also have drying facilities for any cyclists, walkers or fishermen who find themselves slightly soggy.

If you just want to relax without travelling too far, you can do a lot worse than amble gently around Aberaeron itself. We are only a ten-minute walk away from the centre of town and the harbour.

There are many National Trust properties in Wales with Llanerchaeron just a 10-minute drive of the house.

If nature and wildlife are what you love, then again Ceredigion has so much to offer you. The Red Kite is staging a remarkable comeback, and in this area has gone from a handful of birds to an estimated 200+ breeding pairs. There are several places to visit that you are guaranteed a sighting, though it is not uncommon to see the distinctive forked tail above you anywhere in the area.

Cardigan Bay also has resident populations of Bottle-nosed Dolphins, Harbour Porpoises and Atlantic Grey seals. The dolphins can often be seen from the beaches, and there are wildlife trips around the Bay available from Aberaeron Harbour and from Newquay (Ceinewydd) from Easter to October.

Steam train buffs too can indulge their passions in and around the area. In Aberystwyth there is the Vale of Rheidol Railway that takes a scenic trip up to Devils Bridge. There are many more railways in the area, details of which can all be found at the Great Little Trains of Wales web site.

Aberystwyth Arts Centre in the grounds of the University has theatre, cinema and various festivals throughout the year for those who wish to catch up with their culture, and also housed in Aberystwyth is the National Library of Wales.

For golfers there is a variety of links and parkland courses available within easy reach at Borth and Ynyslas, Cardigan, Penrhos and Aberystwyth. There are also 9-hole courses available in Penrhos, Lampeter, Llangrannog & Rhydyfelin.
