The Melita was built in 1888 and is one of the larger Victorian buildings in Stratford-upon-Avon. The property became a bed and breakfast in 1935 and has been welcoming visitors and theatre goers through its doors ever since .

The Melita has for several years enjoyed 4 star rating with both the English Tourist Board and the AA. The hotel is also a member of the Stratford-upon-Avon and District Hotel and Catering Association.

The Melita has a total of twelve bedrooms ten of which are en suite and two have private facilities. All our rooms are individually decorated and appointed ensuring that no two rooms are alike. Whilst making alterations every effort has been made to maintain and reintroduce the Victorian feel of this charming house.

Children of all ages are welcome. Cots and highchairs are available for the younger guest.

This cosy Lounge is available 24 hours and is exclusively for the use of guests. It is a wonderful place to read, watch the television, access our wifi hot spot or simply chat with other guests about the days events.

For over 25 years the Melita has won various Stratford in bloom awards for its beautiful hanging baskets that decorate the front of the property. However, during the spring and summer months it is the rear garden that makes the Melita such a special place to stay. To relax in the afternoon and evening sunshine is an excellent way to unwind after a busy day sightseeing or working.

There are several areas where local knowledge can be very useful. Patricia and Russell are on hand to help their guests with any advice they may need. There may be some areas that you may wish to investigate yourselves before you arrive, or perhaps you would like to book a restaurant or theatre tickets.

Holy Trinity Church,the resting place of Shakespeare himself. The church is a lovely riverside walk away and can be seen from both the Clopton and Tramway bridge.

Blenheim Palace is about a 45 minute drive away and is very good for a wonderful day out.

Horse racing is held at Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Cheltenham racecourses.
