Attractions
Fowey was and is home to a great many writers inspired, no doubt, by the unspoilt naturalness and beauty of the coast line and surrounding countryside. The extremely successful 10 day Daphne du Maurier Festival of Arts and Literature held annually in May is a sparkling mix of star names, guided walks, talks, drama local events and free entertainment, definitely worth a visit along with the Fowey Regatta Week, another very lively annual event exploding onto the streets and harbour in August.
Geographically, Fowey is ideally situated for touring the whole area with the Lost Gardens of Heligan 10 miles and the hugely successful Eden Project a mere 5 miles distant.
