Poole has been a centre of shipping for centuries. It is Europe's largest natural Harbour and the views across the Harbour are as stunning today as it was a centaury ago. In the center of Poole Harbour you will find Brownsea Island the home of the first Boy Scout Camp in 1907 the Island is now owned by the national Trust and can be visited by a short boat ride from Poole Quay or from the Harbour mouth at Sandbanks. Poole Harbour has around five large Marinas taking boats up to 80 feet. Poole Town also has a busy Continental Ferry Port providing Cross Channel Ferry service to the channel Island, France and Northern Spain. Old Town Pool retains its Georgian Quay and is complemented by modern life style developments, Restaurants, Bars, and numerous live entertainments along with fire works every Thursday evening during the summer until November.From the mouth of Poole Harbour you will find the start of The Costal Path, follow the Costal Path along the Beach into the pretty Village of Studland then on to Old Harry, from Old Harry walk down into to the seaside town of Swanage, the Jurassic Coast continues from Swanage along to Durlston Head and on its way down towards Weymouth.Please Note: Non-smoking.
