Redgate Smithy is in the heart of South East Cornwall, on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, near the village of St.Cleer, and three miles north west of Liskeard. We are situated in a country lane just above the beautiful wooded Golitha Falls on the River Fowey. Lovely for walking!

Built around 200 years ago, Redgate Smithy is now a friendly and welcoming B&B. Breakfast is cooked to order on the range, using local produce, and is served in the conservatory overlooking the garden - watch the birds while you relax and plan your day ahead!

We have a lovely woodland garden that has a patio and other seating areas, and a large conservatory for guests' use at any time, plus comfortable beamed, well equipped cottage style bedrooms.

At Redgate Smithy, we aim to provide you with a relaxing atmosphere, with all guests' rooms upstairs separated away from our own, each with their own colour TV, and tea & coffee making facilities.

Golitha Falls, Siblyback Lake, Bodmin Moor, SE Cornwall, the Copper Trail and the Camel Trail are all wonderful for Walking, plus Birdwatching, and Cycling.

The Copper trail is a new long distance 60 mile walking trail around the whole of Bodmin Moor! We are on the Copper Trail, and can provide baggage forwarding for walkers if required.

We are very close to Siblyback Lake, and the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site around Minions. Birds and wildlife abound on and around the moor. There are also riding, hacking, and fishing facilities locally. The area abounds with nineteenth century industrial archaeology; including the extensive mining remains up on the moor, the Wheal Victoria Copper Mine down by Golitha Falls, and the remains of the fascinating Liskeard and Caradon Railway. The very pretty Looe Valley Line still runs from Liskeard to Looe.
