Our relaxed and friendly guest house is perfectly situated 5 minutes from the beach, shops and Swanage Steam Railway. We are also within easy reach of the Purbecks and Dorset coast where you will find superb diving, walking, cycling, climbing and bird watching opportunities. Over looking the beautiful parish church of St Mary the Virgin.

Swanage is part of the World Heritage site of the 'Jurassic Coast', which extends to Exmouth in Devon.

Only 40 minutes away by car or train are the historic towns of Wareham, Poole, Dorchester and Weymouth, who will be hosts to the 2012 Olympic Sailing events.

For the safety of our guests, Rivendell is a non-smoking guest house. Smoking is permitted in the garden.

All of our rooms are en suite with either a bath or power shower or combination of both, with TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. All double beds are super king size offering exceptional comfort. In the refurbishment of the house we have retained the original features retaining all the charm and character of this beautiful Victorian building and still giving top quality en suite facilities.

The pressurised water supplied to all rooms is rising main and suitable for drinking.

The whole house is centrally heated and has thermostatically controlled radiators in each bedroom.

There is an open fire in the guest lounge, video and DVD player, board games and books.
