Description
Riverside Cottage Bed and Breakfast offers quality and very comfortable guest accommodation near to the Suffolk market town of Needham Market.

The Bed and Breakfast provides an ideal base from which to explore the tourist attractions in Mid-Suffolk and countryside walks.

The Suffolk village of Great Bricett has a 12th century Church with norman font and has one the oldest sundials in the UK.

There is a range of good food pubs and restaurants, one within easy walking distance of the bed and breakfast and the others no more than three miles away.

Riverside Cottage Bed and Breakfast is approved by the English Tourist Board and has a four diamond rating. It was originally two Elizabethan thatched cottages converted into one home and was a village shop as seen in a photograph in the house.

The house was enlarged in the 1970's. The Bed and Breakfast has still many period features including a bread oven in the guest dining area and beamed ceilings in the older part of the house.

There are two fine inglenook fireplaces. Bed and Breakfast guests have their own entrance and spiral staircase at the front of the barn extension, which leads to the two en-suite bed rooms.

There is ample off-street parking for 3 cars. The large garden leads to open fields and woodland walks.
Attractions
Mid Suffolk is centrally located in a predominantly agricultural area full of timber framed buildings and magnificent churches. Its most famous artist John Constable painted the local way of life during the 18th century and Flatford Mill is 15 miles to the south.

Ipswich (9miles east) and Bury St. Edmunds are the two main towns both dating back to the Saxons. Places of interest in Ipswich are Christchurch Mansions, the historic docks and the Unitarian Meeting House built in 1699 which has a magnificent interior.

In Bury St. Edmunds the Green King Brewery museum and the Georgian Royal Theatre are worth a look. The Abbey Gardens and Cathedral are a pleasant place to stroll and nearby Ickworth House run by the National Trust is on the outskirts of the town.

Another place to visit is Lavenham (7 miles to the west) an old wool market town with a splendid timber framed Guildhall again owned by the National Trust.
