Description
We are proud to be the first Guest House in Helston to be awarded 4 Stars, for our superior standards of service and accommodation.
Strathallan Guest House is a beautiful Georgian house dating from the middle of the 19th Century and once formed part of the estate of Penrose Manor on the edge of the ancient market town of Helston.
Strathallan Guest House has been tastefully and sympathetically modernised to cater for today's discerning visitor. There is on-site parking for our guests' use and our seven guest bedrooms are particularly well appointed. Included with all rooms are:
Colour television
Fully controllable central heating
Tea/coffee making facilities
En-suite bath or shower room and toilet
Free wired Internet Access
Although Strathallan Guest House is situated in the heart of this lovely old town, it is nevertheless quiet and peaceful. There is a secluded garden in which you may wish to relax, and the beautiful Penrose walks with boating lake and skateboard park are just a step away. The National Trust woodland walks in the Penrose Valley are the finest in the West Country and these well marked trails take you around Loe Pool, Cornwall's largest freshwater lake and to the sandbar which separates the Pool from the Atlantic Ocean.
Single occupancy is from just £35
We accept credit cards.
Attractions
Helston is the original "Quaint old Cornish Town", home of the Furry Dance held each year on or near May 8th - FLORA DAY- and is still a busy country community, with its narrow bustling streets and old-world charm. It is ideally situated for touring and exploring the whole of West Cornwall, whilst the enchanting Isles of Scilly are within easy reach by Helicopter or Steamer out of Penzance.
Helston is at the North-Western edge of the Lizard Peninsula, recently described as "Britain's best kept secret". The secluded coves, tiny fishing villages and the beautiful Helford River are as yet, unspoiled by the pressures of modern tourism. For those who prefer a livelier atmosphere the resort towns of St Ives and Falmouth are close by and offer an excellent selection of Restaurants, Discotheques and Theatres. Local attractions include Flambards Triple Theme Park, The Cornish Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, Culdrose Air Base - public viewing enclosure and tours, and Goonhilly Earth Satellite Station.
It is easy to get to us from the Station using the T34 Bus which is a direct service to Helston. For 4 star B&B accommodation in Helston, book the Strathallan Guest House.
