Swanage is the perfect base for exploring the stunning Dorset countryside snd superb coastline and has much to offer both the young and the young at heart.
The picturesque seaside town is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the newly designated World Heritage Jurassic Coastline where castles, coves, islands and spectacular coastal views await.
Just a short level walk from the hotel is Swanage's award winning sandy beach which has everything for the perfect day out by the sea. For the children, it boasts one of the only remaining Punch and Judy shows. There are numerous excellent restaurants and pubs serving splendid food in Swanage and the surrounding area.
The Castleton is an excellent base for birdwatchers (RSPB reserve at Arne just a short drive away), ramblers, rockclimbers, golfers (The spectacular & challenging Isle of Purbeck Golf Club is but a good 3 iron away!), sailing, windsufing or just exploring the many exciting historic attractions such as Corfe Castle and Brownsea Island.
Walkers can enjoy the stunning scenery along the south west coast path, which runs along the whole of the Purbeck coastline to the famous Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.
Take a trip to Corfe on the Swanage Steam Railway. This nostalgic journey takes you to the heart of Corfe where you can explore the historic village and imposing castle ruins.
