Description
The Jolly Sailor is one of the oldest pubs in the Country in fact it is featured in a wills cigarette card collection called 40 oldest inn's.
Affectionately Known as the "JOLLY" By the locals over the centuries, since 1516, it has been a place of rest and recreation for seafarers and travelers alike.
Until about 120 years ago sea vessels used to moor right alongside the old part of the building, until land was reclaimed allowing for cottages adjacent to the pub to be built.
The Jolly has now been refurbished to a very high standard by the present landlord, so much so that it has been said it now has the best accommodation in Looe.
The main beam in the Jolly has come from a French ship of the line at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
Four rooms have spacious en-suite facilities. Room 5 has a private separate shower & toilet.Rooms 3 and 4 have four poster beds.
A full English breakfast is served with alternatives available on request.
We look forward to welcoming you!
