Description
The anchor is a 10 bedroom guesthouse and restaurant at the heart of the picturesque village of Annascaul in the centre of the Dingle peninsula. All of our bright and airy rooms offer a high level of comfort even in an Inn that is almost two hundred years old.
For walkers and fishing folk we have a drying room for the odd occasion that it might rain.
All rooms have en-suite facilities and flatscreen T.V. and D.V.D.
Tea and coffee are always available to our guests in the lounge and peaceful reading room.
We can boast a licensed Restaurant on the premises where you can enjoy a slow romantic candle lit dinner after a day on the mountains or lazing on the beach.
The restaurant houses our collection of antique porcelain and old Irish pottery.
Our menu always features when in season fresh seafood...Bass, crab, mussels, wild salmon, the seafood chowder is a meal in itself.
Kerry lamb is the local speciality but great steaks are all available direct from adjacent farmland.
We look forward to welcoming you!
Attractions
Hill and dale, sea, river, lake make an ever-changing pattern, with the wild flowers of Kerry blooming everywhere.
Situated as it is on the southwest tip of Ireland, the Gulf Stream plays a more warming part than it does for the rest of the country. For the holiday maker, this gives a longer season of enjoyment. The first flowers of Spring appear shortly after Christmas and the gorse is still in bloom at the end of October.
Annascaul is the birthplace of famous Antarctic explorer Tom Crean.
