Description
Helen and Jon would like to offer you a warm welcome to The Old Brewery Bed and Breakfast. We are located in the picturesque village of Bere Regis, near the old Dorset market towns of Dorchester and Wareham, just off the A31. The Old Brewery is a charming 17th Century cob-built family home. We have two comfortable recently converted en-suite bedrooms and a modern self-contained holiday let which is situated in our beautiful country garden.
For those who love the great outdoors and for relaxation-seekers you will find a home from home. We offer secure storage facilities for your tackle, gear, boards, bikes and cycles by prior arrangement.
We make sure you start your day off with a healthy cooked breakfast, using produce supplied from local farm shops and suppliers. Our home is nestled close to the foot of Black Hill and sits on the edge of the Isle of Purbeck right in the heart of Thomas Hardy country. We are just a short drive to numerous local beauty spots that run the length of the Jurassic Coast and close to many outstanding family attractions- all just on our doorstep!

What some of our guests have to say
Dear Jon and Helen, Just a quick note to say many thanks for making my recent stay at The Old Brewery an enjoyable one. The village is lovely and the cottage is refreshingly traditional and very comfortable. I look forward to staying with you when I am next in the area. Thanks again.
Pete Ditchfield, Cumbria - December 2007.
We have had a wonderful stay...beautiful room; great breakfast and a really friendly welcome. Great location, lovely cottage and great hosts! The breakfasts were hearty and set us up for the day. We'll definitely stay again.

Attractions
So what happening locally?
There is so much to do in the locality a few ideas are shown below, please do let us know if there is anything specific that you would like to know about.
Local Walks
There are a selection of short walks local to the Old Brewery that are suitable for a variety of fitness levels. A personal favourite of ours is to take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque village of Shitterton with its pretty stream and chocolate box cottages along an old farm track, which meanders its way up to the top of Black Hill.
On most days throughout the year you can see the local herd of Dorset Red Cattle. Once you reach the top take time to enjoy the fabulous views of Bere Regis village and surrounding countryside. For the early birds, if you fancy a pre-breakfast stroll you may be lucky enough to see deer grazing in the dawn light in and around the woods on Black Hill.
Walk through the woods around Black Hill which are carpeted with blue bells in early March and can look magical.
Local Horse Riding
The B & B is located near 3 riding stables all offering different riding experiences, including:
Beach riding
Woodland riding
Heath riding in the heart of the Purbecks
Lessons for all standards in an indoor mιnage
Lead rein for beginners and children
All stables provide hats but a good pair of walking or ankle boots are useful.
Let Helen know if you want her to book you in for a ride; please provide as much information about your riding ability and about the type of riding experience you would like to try and we will arrange the rest!
Go local on pedal power
Dont miss the opportunity to discover the Purbecks by pedal power. A great way to get to know Dorset is to cycle around the beautiful Dorset countryside. There are all sorts of routes to suit most cyclists. Why not try a mountain bike ride around the many cycle paths through the historic Wareham and Puddletown forests? Alternatively, venture out and explore the stunning Hardy countryside or try one of the many Purbeck cycle way routes that range from 5 to 100 miles.
The Old Brewery-Cruise Control diving charters and RYA Power boating courses
The Old Brewery would like to recommend Cruise Control for all your boating and diving needs.
They understand that your boating and diving time is for pleasure and relaxation. From their training centre in Poole they operate out of one of the largest natural harbours in the world and have access to some of the best cruising and diving areas on the south coast.
