Description
The Historic Town Of Caerleon lies on the river UK, just 3 miles from Newport and close to the M4 Motorway. Today much of Caerleons past can still be seen, the Amphitheatre, the Legionary Barracks, Roman Baths and Museum all stand only a short walk from The Priory. Originally built in 1180 on the site of old Roman Stables, this former Monastery has been sympathetically restored preserving the original flagstones and the 14th Century medallions surrounding the Nuns Court are said to depict the nine Roman Emperors to have visited Caerleon.A wonderful selection of daily fresh fish, seafood, meat and game are displayed in the main restaurant, complimented by a vast cellar of wines, champagnes and ports served from the Priorys spectacular Oak Bar.
