Description
Jenny and Nick welcome you to The Rowans Bed & Breakfast in the quiet community of Portnalong on the Minginish peninsula of Skye.
Here at The Rowans you have a private annexe, with its own entrance, a double bedroom (which can be set as a Twin), large shower room and your own kitchen/diner. This versatile arrangement allows us to supply you with everything you need to make a continental breakfast and a packed lunch in your own kitchen.
So you have the freedom to eat what you like, when you like and where you like. If you wish to have your breakfast in bed, in the garden or in the hills, it's ok with us. We can also offer you a home-cooked two-course evening meal by prior arrangement.
In the annexe you have a TV, DVD player, radio/CD and hairdryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, small electric oven and hob, fridge, gadgets and crockery.
We also have a selection of DVDs, guidebooks, maps and games for you to use during your stay. There is plenty of driveway parking and undercover shelter for motorbikes or cycles.
The rates are: £66 for double occupancy, £45 single occupancy. These are room rates not per person
The annexe is your private accommodation, you are the only guests. The Rowans is the place for those who value their privacy but like to be looked after and those who want a little more flexibility than the traditional B&B can offer.
We hope our more informal arrangements will help you get the most from your holiday on magical Skye and we look forward to welcoming you!

Attractions
The Rowans is an ideal base for walkers and climbers, or for a relaxing break, away from the frantic pace of modern life, and for exploring central and north Skye. We are only 8 miles from Sligachan, the starting point for many paths into the spectacular Cuillins, and 12 miles from Glenbrittle beach.
Other local attractions include the Talisker Distillery at Carbost, and arts and crafts at the Loch Harport Gallery. Portnalong is a small community with a small shop, café and pub.
Portree, the capital of Skye, is 30 minutes drive away. Here you will find the Aros Centre with arts, tourist information, cinema and café. Also in the town is a whole range of shops and dining opportunities from takeaway to 5-star.
