Description
A warm welcome awaits you at our cosy home away from home, nestled on the harbourside in the idyllic village of Kyleakin, just over the Bridge on the Isle of Skye.
The White Heather is a small, non smoking, family run hotel, with just 9 immaculately presented, ensuite bedrooms, enabling us to provide that personal touch often missing in larger hotels.
We are more than happy to cater for both individual holidays and group bookings - up to 22 guests in total. If you want to have the place totally to yourselves, however, we would recommend you make your block booking well in advance.
For anything from a family get-together to a religious retreat, the White Heather combines a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with a high standard of service, designed to make your stay with us a most memorable one!
There are 2 guest lounges for you to make use of throughout the day and evening. Highland life is all about taking life that little bit slower so why not make the most of it - pick a lounge, settle yourself in to a comfy sofa and just relax: enjoy the view for a while, watch the fishing boats and yachts as they come and go in the harbour, the ever changing scenery as the tide goes out or the constantly shifting colours and shadows across Beinn na Caillich. Theres so much to see and yet so little actually happening you cant help but fall in love with the area - we did!
In the morning enjoy your very own breakfast with a view. We pride ourselves on offering a veritable feast, and when combined with that fantastic view, there really couldnt be a better way to start your day! Whet your appetite by checking out the menu on our website!
We are happy to welcome well-behaved dogs (we do have rooms that do not take dogs at all, for guests with allergies), although we do request that a few house rules are followed, for the comfort of all our guests - these are presented on the "Canine Companion" page on our website.
We have free, off-road parking for all our guests.

Attractions
We cannot provide an exhaustive list of everything to see and do in this beautiful and inspirational corner of the Highlands, but we hope to be able to give you a real flavour of what to expect.
There are numerous castle, brochs and museums to visit, offering you a real insight in to the turbulent history of an independent and proud people, including several museums dedicated to crofting life in the Inner and Outer Hebrides.
It may be that you really want to get away from civilisation totally, in which case you are certainly coming to the right place! You may want to get your walking boots on straight-away, or maybe a pony trek takes your fancy - either way you can be assured that the experience will be unforgettable, whether it be the scenery or the wildlife that takes your breath away! Maybe you prefer visiting National Trust estates/nature reserves/forestry walks, where information is provided and guided tours/walks are available - then dont worry, because they are here too!
If Golf is your game then we even have a couple of great golf courses which are, not surprisingly, set amidst stunning scenery.
We also have suggestions for various day trips, enabling you to get the most out of your visit to the Misty Isle, or maybe youre determined to find the numerous arts and crafts shops and galleries, scattered all over the place - little treasures which often require a hunting party to find - but highly rewarding once discovered!
There is a real abundance of wildlife in this area - both in the air, on land and in the water!
You may want to investigate the many fresh and sea water lochs around Skye during your stay - the choice of boat trips is as wide as the ocean - everything from glass bottomed boats and jet boats through to fishing boats.
