Bed and Breakfasts Guide is owned and run by David Martin and Nigel Harris, who started the Business back in January 2006 while they continued in their 'day jobs' .
This was at a rooftop party in New York for Hostelbookers
David was working in Corporate Sales for Orange and Nigel was a TV Director who made well known Children's TV Programmes such as Teletubbies, Rosie & Jim and Brum, as well as many other live studio shows and gameshows.
We both saw a huge potential in creating a multi-genre site that looked good and delivered. We felt that although there were other sites out there, some were rather dated and confusing, and we felt that there was a gap in the market for a site that did pride itself on customer service (others seemed to prefer to not have contact details), and one that put B&Bs on the same playing field as Hotels - we felt they were losing out.
We recognised the fact that advertisers wanted a choice as to whether they used online booking or not, with many B&Bs still preferring the traditional phone call or email. We offer whichever route the advertiser wants to use, but would now encourage some kind of online booking facility even if it's your own and free! We can advise you on this of course.
Initially David worked full time and Nigel was still away Directing, but eventually Nigel joined the Business full time, and we now run the Business together from our office in Birmingham.
