The satellite industry is about to be revolutionised thanks to Sir Richard Branson
It will soon be possible for satellites to be travelling around the World in 90 minutes thanks to Sir Richard Branson's LauncherOne vehicle.
The LauncherOne can travel at Mach 25 - thats 18,000mph or 25 times the speed of sound! It will place satellites in orbit after being released from the WhiteKnightTwo at an altitude of 50,000 feet.
This will not only reduce costs dramatically but will open up access.
Sir Richard Branson also announced this week that Virgin Galactic will push on with taking our first astronauts into space, as they will be flying his family 96km into space by the end of 2013 - that's Holly, Sam & Richard of course.
Sir Richard said 529 tourists have signed up for the two-hour flights, at $US200,000 a trip.
