As a hotel which has been trading since the 17th Century, our rooms are varied in size and shape. Some have original oak beams others are more modern, having been added over the last few years. Whatever the style of room, all are en-suite and we endevour to ensure a high degree of cleanliness and comfort. Most rooms are enabled for wifi internet communication. In keeping with a hotel of this nature there is no lift but we do have rooms on the ground floor for those who struggle with stairs.

Our award winning Oaks Restaurant offers guests a modern a la carte menu featuring traditional British and international dishes to suit all palates. Our bar is very popular with locals and residents alike and is open throughout the day for tea, coffee or something stronger. The Legacy Abbey Hotel sits in a prime location on the side of the beautiful Wye Valley, overlooking the ruins of the famous Tintern Abbey, which was founded in 1131. Parts of the hotels building date back to 1206 when it was inside the original precinct wall of the Abbey. The earliest trade directory in which it was listed as an hotel was 1835, when it was known as the Beaufort Arms Hotel. The landlord at that time was for many years recorded as being the keyholder and official guide to the Abbey. Although the hotel has undergone many changes throughout its history, in 2002 it was completely refurbished and renamed.
