Welcome to The Byre Vegetarian Bed & Breakfast, offering ETC 4 Star Silver Award quality accommodation. We also have a Silver Award from the Green Business Tourism Scheme for our environmental practices. CTC approved, 'Cyclists Welcome, 'Walkers Welcome, Level 1 Mobility rating within the National Accessible Scheme. The house, originally a 19th century stone-built farm byre, is a unique modern conversion, simply furnished in a minimalist elegant style.
Bonny Barn - pic 4 above - was built in 2002 to provide self catering accommodation for cyclists using the Pennine Cycleway which runs through Harbottle village. It offers hostel style accommodation for up to 4 people. (breakfast not provided). The open-plan mezzanine floor serves as a communal sleeping area for up to four people. (contact us for up to 6 people). Mattress, sleeping bags, liners, pillows and towels are provided and duvet & flat sheets are available for couples.
Ideally located in central Northumberland and at the foot of the Cheviots, the location is a perfect base for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers. Harbottle is within easy reach of Alnwick Castle & Gardens and just 15 minutes from the popular village of Rothbury and Cragside.
Our new glass meditation room at the top of our elevated garden and with a view over the house to Harbottle Crags, is a perfect place for quiet reflection, contemplation and bird-watching.
Internet access is available. Non-smoking establishment. Ideal for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers.

Location Silverton House is situated on a quiet country lane and surrounded by fields and hills, but is an easy walk from the village centre. The garden is a blaze of colour throughout the Spring and Summer. You are welcome to sit on the patio and enjoy the colourful garden and fresh country air.
Attractions We are ideally placed within Northumberland to visit the many attractions, including Cragside, Alnwick Castle and Garden, Holy Island and Hadrian's Wall. Walkers can choose from the many local routes starting from the house. Your dog is welcome but please let us know in advance.
Menu All food is home cooked and sourced locally whenever possible, sample our freshly made organic bread at breakfast time and choose from our wide breakfast menu to suit all tastes. Evening meals are cooked to order and geared to individual preferences, you are welcome to bring your own wine. Packed lunches can be ordered the day before required.
