The Saracen's Head Hotel is situated in the heart of Southwell and falls within the shadows of the outstanding architecture of the Norman Minster, as it has done for nearly 800 years. Southwell's history dates back to the Roman era. Over the centuries has built up a complex and fascinating history. At the Saracen's Head Hotel we offer a personal warm and friendly service and will always go that extra mile to ensure your stay runs smoothly. Our 4 poster room contains an Elizabethan Wall Painting that is still in the original colours dating back to the 16th century. The room also contains a traditional roll top bath and makes this the perfect romantic break. We also offer 2 Feature Executive rooms that again offer roll top baths and king size beds. We have a range of Double and Twin rooms. All our rooms are en-suite and have showers over the baths. Every room contains a trouser press, television and tea making service.Our Lord Byron restaurant offers quality European food which is locally sourced. We also have a bar with 2 lounges and the chance to dine al fresco in the summer months in the courtyard which has won awards for the quality of the hanging baskets. The hotel has two function suites. The first being the Bramley Room. Ideal for some conferences or private dining for up to 16 people. The second being the Minster Suite, with its own bar and capacity for over 100 people it is the perfect room for parties, weddings, conferences and a wide range of events. Between the history of the building and the quality of service this really is the perfect hotel for every occasion.
