" Merlin House is in the beautiful, ancient village of Hawkshead - world famous for its Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth connections.
Situated in the Esthwaite Valley, Hawkshead is the perfect centre for whatever type of lakeland holiday you wish to enjoy.
Esthwaite Lake is nearby with its organic fishery is a paradise for both the trout and pike fisherman.
Merlin house is on the northern edge of the village and all three of our letting rooms overlook open fields to Latterbarrow.
We have two doubles and one twin/family rooms, all are en suite with colour televisions and hospitality trays for our guests, each room also has a mini fridge. Room prices are from £34 per person per night. Single room by arrangement.
There is ample car parking in the garden, a rare feature in the village! And we are completely Non smoking. "

Apart from the wide selection of shops, also on offer are the Beatrix Potter Gallery with its large collection of her original pictures and the ancient grammar school which numbers Wordsworths, amongst its old boys.
Nearby, overlooking Coniston Water, is Brantwood the home of John Ruskin boasting one of the most beautiful iews in England. Go back in time and take a trip on the Victorian steam powered Gondola which picks up passengers at the jetty.
Grizedale Forest with its Go Ape tree top assault course and exciting mountain bike trails is just ten minutes away. Walkers can enjoy a wide variety of walks, some with sculptures en-route.
the world famous Tarn Hows, overlooked by the langdale pikes, Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam is only a five minute drive or forty minute walk from the house.
