" Midway between the Devon villages of Lydford and Brentor and set in its own six acres of wildlife paradise, Burn Cottage provides luxury B&B accommodation in the main house or B&B/self-catering in The Linhay.
In the Burn Cottage grounds you'll find a two acre wildflower meadow with rare white and purple orchids and a plethora of wildflowers throughout the spring & summer - and teeming with birdlife.
There is a natural, spring fed lake surrounded by trees and banks of wildflowers which is home to frogs, newts, water-boatmen and an enormous Koi carp called Fat Max. The woodland area leads to the lake via a swinging seat, a secluded sunny spot.
Your own separate accommodation within the grounds of Burn Cottage, yet only 100 yards from the house.
Available for bed and breakfast or self-catering as you wish.
If self-catering, then a Full English Breakfast in the house can be booked in advance.
Quiet sunny position with gate to the moor within a few steps.
The well appointed, centrally heated accommodation has an electric hob and cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer box and washer/dryer.
There is a large double/family bedroom, bathroom with shower and roll top bath, a huge living area with double and two single futons and dining room table and chairs.
All bed linen and towels are supplied.
Outside there is plenty of parking space and garaging
The Linhay has its own private garden, with patio and barbacue in a lovely south facing sun trap. "

" Gates open directly onto the moor where ponies roam - and there are uninterrupted views through 360 degrees of open moorland and Dartmoor tors. To the south is Brentor Church - a 12th century building situated on top of a tor, whilst to the north are Widgery Cross, Great Links Tor and the Tavy Cleave.
The busy market town of Tavistock is just six miles away and, situated on the western edge of Dartmoor, Burn Cottage is just a few minutes from the river Tamar and Cornwall.
