" Wayside Farm was built in approximately 1637 on the west coast of the Lake District, Cumbria.

Wayside guest accommodation & Whisky Barn is situated at the base of Black Combe, surrounded by stunning scenery and the Cumbria coast. Wayside and the Whisky Barn is the perfect location for a relaxing weekend or for the more adventurous we provide an excellent base for walking, hiking, mountain biking, wind surfing and after an exciting day out, why not relax with a cold glass of beer, good food or a warming single malt whisky.

The accommodation has been carefully and tastefully renovated from a barn and has kept many original features. All four stylish bedrooms are ensuite and have got fabulous fittings.

If you enjoy the outdoor life and walking then Black Combe is located directly behind the hotel with easy access. The hotel has secure storage, ideal for bikes, canoes and other equipment along with washing and drying facilities.

Dogs are welcome in the Annexe by prior arrangement and at an additional charge. It is asked that all dogs must not be left in the room unattended or allowed on the furniture. Dogs are welcome in the bar area. "

" A warm welcome awaits you at Wayside. Enjoy Christmas in the Lake District with fantastic scenery, bracing walks on the beach and the fells.

Three night breaks at Wayside from 24th December - 27th December 2009.

Unpack and unwind, maybe explore a little, or relax in front of our log burning stove. A glass of mulled wine will await you before dinner on Christmas Eve in our festively decorated dining room and bar.

Christmas Day
Champagne breakfast will be served between 10-11 am, so you can have a lie in and open presents or maybe go for a Christmas day walk on the beach.
Christmas dinner is served between 6-6.30 pm

Boxing Day
Breakfast is served between 9-10 am.
Enjoy the rest of the day as you please.
Evening a la carte menu will be available between 7 & 8pm

27th December
Breakfast will be served between 9-10 am , check out is 12 midday.

3 nights DBB £225 pp for twin&double room, £255 pp for the annexe. Family room is £225 pp, under 3's stay free, please phone to request childrens prices.

New Year Special Offer

New Years Eve
Unpack and unwind before Wayside New Year’s Bash begins at 7pm. Come and celebrate the New Year in style. There will be a buffet available with various choices of dishes, music will be played and a chance to dance. The New Year will be counted in and a glass of champagne will be served to everyone to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.

New Years Day
Breakfast will be served between 10-11 am. Enjoy the rest of the day as you please.Evening a la carte menu will be served between 7-8 pm.

January 2nd
Breakfast will be served between 9-10am

Check out will be 12 midday
