Description

Abbots Thorn is a 200 year old, traditional, stone-built, former Dales farmhouse that reputedly has the only round chimney stacks in the Dales. The house has been lovingly converted into a warm and comfortable place to spend your holiday.

Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Abbots Thorn is a 200 year old traditionally built Dales house in Coverdale's principal village Carlton with stunning views south towards West Scrafton, as a guest house (because we serve evening meals) not just a bed and breakfast establishment! we have been awarded the VisitBritain 4 star award so you can be sure of a comfortable, friendly, warm stay.

Abbots Thorn is centrally located to many places of interest including Leyburn, Middleham, Aysgarth Falls, Wensley, Reeth, Askrigg and Hawes to name but a few.

We have three guest rooms available, two have en-suite facilities and all rooms feature country pine furniture, full central heating for those chilly winter evenings and tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits and fresh milk. All rooms have a colour television and hairdryer. Each room has a large window, two of which have window seats so that you can enjoy the stunning views of Coverdale that unfold from our sunny, south facing location.

After a good night's sleep, a full country breakfast featuring traditional, local produce awaits you in our informal dining room. For those with a lighter appetite we have a varied breakfast menu.

We will be happy to supply packed lunches on request, advanced booking would be appreciated.

Good food is important, especially when you are on holiday, so why not sample ours? If required, dinner is available each evening, except Sunday, offering you good, home-cooked food, using fresh, local produce whenever possible. We will be happy to cater for special diets. We don't have a drinks licence, but please feel free to bring your own wine and we'll do the rest.

A warm welcome awaits.
