Description

Carwinion House is an elegant 18th Century stone manor house offering the perfect bed-and-breakfast retreat. Guests are looked after by lady of the manor Jane Rogers, or alternatively the West Wing provides a charming self catering getaway with its own patio and garden.

The manor house is tucked away in its own private estate in the lush North Helford area of Cornwall, only a stone's throw from Falmouth. As Cornwall’s bamboo garden, Carwinion is home to over 200 species set within 14 acres of peaceful unmanicured grounds. The sun trap terrace is an ideal spot to spend a warm spring afternoon and many say that Jane’s cream teas are the best in Cornwall.

Bed and breakfast guests enjoy panoramic views of the garden from large, airy rooms with a warm ambience. All have ensuite facilities, television and tea making facilities and are dog friendly. Evening meals are available on request.

Attractions

Carwinion House is situated on the outskirts of Mawnan Smith, a small village with a charming thatched pub, The Red Lion.

Mawnan Smith is only four miles from the vibrant port of Falmouth and its sandy beaches at Gyllyngvase, Swanpool and Maenporth. A natural harbout, Falmouth is home to the National Maritime Museum and many other popular attractions.

Carwinion is approximately 14 miles from Truro, which has fantastic shopping and dining, and of course the beautiful Cathedral. You can go by road or on a boat from Falmouth, which takes you on the River Fal and past some of the smaller creeks.

Lands End, Penzance and St Ives are all easily accessible, not forgetting the Eden Project at St Austell.
