THE CROSSKEYS HOUSE is a small country 4 star Bed and Breakfast in Hilgay near Downham Market, set in its own grounds besides the tranquil River Wissey.

Formerly a inn and farm complex once serving the ford to the village of Hilgay, renovations have retained the original character of the diminishing Olde England.

The dining room with its oak beams and inglenook fireplace is a ideal place to start the day with one of our famous breakfasts.

Single rooms are from £40 in a double room and doubles from £60 (off season)

Spacious bedrooms all with new luxury ensuite bathrooms, have colour TV,freeview and DVD players coffee and tea making facilities and two have four poster beds. Two are on the ground floor. wifi

The large riverside garden offers a location to simply relax or, for the more energetic, row boating or fishing.Aa rowing boat are available free of charge from the house. A large river frontage is ideal for the course fishing enthusiast or even for mooring whilst you sample the hospitality of the Hotel.Or just sitting and watching the world and boats go by.

An abundance of birdwatching locations, country walks and equestrian routes are available in the surrounding countryside. The Welney Wildlife Trust is only about five miles away from this bed and breakfast in Norfolk

New stabling has been erected allowing guests to bring their own horses and pets are welcome at Crosskeys with a modest cleaning fee. The house is situated on a series of Bridle Paths forming the Norfolk Fen Access Project.
