Dating back over 500 years and set in one of the most beautiful areas of south Somerset near the old market town of Ilminster, this stunning thatched cottage oozes comfort with touches of luxury.
With an acre of plantsman’s garden, open under the National Garden Scheme, and panoramic views to die for, life can’t get much better!
Choose from the Kingsize double with ensuite in the Medieval bedroom, or the SuperKing double/twin bedroom with its own private shower room. With beautifully sprung beds, your own TV, hospitality tray, filtered water, hairdryer and independent heating controls, we aim to make your stay with us as comfortable and relaxed as we can.
The guest sitting room has TV/DVD and wood burning stove and there is wireless internet access and plenty of private parking. Our breakfasts are sourced wherever possible from local produce and served in the stylish kitchen/breakfast room with views over the surrounding countryside. Jane also does the occasional evening meal.
Enjoy a quiet drink in the garden on a summer’s eve while watching the cows return from milking. A great base for walking, cycling and bird watching, with an RSPB and Greylake reserves nearby.
We are excellently placed for a number of National Trust properties and private historic houses and gardens including Barrington Court, Montacute, Lytes Cary, Tintinhul, Forde Abbey, Hestercombe, East Lambrook Manor, Maperton and Cothay Manor. Being approx. 20 miles from the coast a visit south to Hardy country, Lyme Regis, Bridport, Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast, or north to Weston-super-Mare, Burnham on Sea, Minehead and Cheddar Gorge, are all an easy drive. Visit Glastonbury and Wells, or Bath for a some Roman culture and a little retail therapy! Easy access from all major routes - M5(J25), A303, A358 and A30.
