Description

Ffynnon Cadno is a distinctive residence with large mature gardens, ponds and walks, set in the beautiful foothills of the Cambrian Mountains.

Alongside the A44 and just outside the small village of Ponterwyd, we are only 15 minutes by car from the bustling seaside resort of Aberystwyth. Ffynnon Cadno is an ideal centre to explore the Mid Wales mountains and coast, and is a perfect base for a walking, cycling or mountain biking break.

The three letting rooms on the first floor have been tastefully decorated and all include TV with freeview channels, a DVD player, WiFi access, and a refreshment tray and alarm clock. All rooms have central heating and double glazed windows, and all double rooms have King Sized beds.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Attractions

Ffynnon Cadno is an ideal centre for exploring Mid Wales and the Cambrian Bay coast. The bustling University and market town of Aberystwyth is about 15 minutes by car and Devil' s Bridge with its famous gorge is 4 miles away. Red Kites fly overhead daily. Bikers and walkers welcome

George Borrow walked through the village in 1854 whilst writing Wild Wales and the local Hotel is named after him.

Situated close to Glyndwr's Way and The Cambrian Way we are right in the middle of good walking country. Plynlimon can be seen from the village and is easily accessible as are several other interesting walks including the marked trails at Nant yr Arian Forestry Centre

There is good game, coarse and sea angling available locally. Dinas and Nantymoch reservoirs are close to the village and day tickets are available. There are also coarse lakes within a few miles and excellent sea angling in Aberystwyth both from boat and beach!

There are some excellent mountain biking tracks at the World famous Nant yr Arian Centre.

The area is perfect for bird watching. The most famous bird to be seen from Ffynnon Cadno is the rare Red Kite. Once nearly extinct in Britain this part of Mid Wales is its stronghold and regularly one can see 40-50 kites when they are fed daily an Nant Yr Arian.

The large garden at Ffynnon Cadno with its diversity of vegetation including a large beech wood is a good place to see up to 40 species of birds.
