This charming old cottage was built c.250 years ago. With its thick stone walls and old beams, it's a perfect environment to base yourself in the quaint old village of Ambleside.

We have recently been awarded the 4 Star Quality in Tourism Silver award.

Situated halfway between the village and the lake on the old original road into Ambleside, it is a much quieter option than the busy A591 that runs through the village.

We have three beautifully appointed bedrooms. In each room there is a small fridge that houses fresh milk and water, with space for anything else you wish to keep cool (we supply wine glasses and a corkscrew). There is also a TV/ video, with a wide selection of videos, radio alarm CD player and of course a compliments tray with a good assortment of refreshments.

Glenside takes 6 full-paying adult guests only. We are a completely non smoking Guest House, with private parking facilities.

Unfortunately we cannot take children and are unable to accommodate pets.

It was described in the Lonely Planet guide in 2003 as,..Exceptional.
