Barmouth is one of the most picturesque resorts on the Welsh Coast and is surrounded by the unrivalled splendour of the Snowdonia National Park. There are plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling including the famous Mawddach Trail that runs all the way from Barmouth to Dolgellau - or you could just relax on our fabulous long, blue flag beach. There are plenty of cafes/pubs to enjoy a relaxing drink or a meal. For those who want to wander further afield, the location of Barmouth puts it within easy reach of numerous other attractions. Nearby there are slate caverns, farm parks and craft centres to visit, narrow gauge railways to ride upon and castles steeped in history to explore. Barmouth is ideally placed for exploring the Cambrian coast by rail.
