Longleys Farm Cottage, set in a tranquil no-through country lane and surrounded by open pastures above the upper reaches of Pevensey Marsh, is just one mile from Hailsham. This historical old market town was granted charter rights by Henry III in 1252 and has two bustling shopping precincts, a modern sports complex & leisure pool.

The surrounding area provides numerous attractions for both young and old. The South Downs and Weald afford excellent walks and many picturesque villages offer refreshment in the old inns and tearooms.

Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters Country Park grace the chalk coastline between Eastbourne and Seaford. Brighton, Hastings, the county town of Lewes and a number of National Trust properties, castles, gardens and stately homes are all within easy reach.

The Cuckoo Line railway, built in 1849, passed through Hailsham, but was closed in 1965. It now provides a beautiful scenic track and bridleway called the Cuckoo Trail, running from Eastbourne to Heathfield.

Varied countryside, including Pevensey Marshes ideal for bird-watching. Eastbourne 8 miles. Convenient for National Trust properties, gardens, the South Downs National Park and many local attractions to suit all ages.
