Portsonachan Hotel is a 1.5 hour drive from Glasgow, a 2.5 hour drive from Edinburgh and a 1 hour drive from Oban, 'Gateway to the Isles'.

Portsonachan hotel has a bar, which is well stocked and available to residents and non residents. The 'Captain's Bar'has over 30 Highland whiskies and drinks to suit all tastes. we also offer bar meals.

The guest lounge is traditionally decorated. If you want to sit and have quiet time after your meal with a small tot of Scottish Malt Whisky in front of the fire.

Portsonachan Hotel has nineteen en-suite bedrooms in total, each with wireless internet access. With a mixture of family, double and twin rooms available. There are five superior rooms that directly overlook the beautiful Loch Awe and the Scottish countryside. All hotel room rates are bed and breakfast inclusive, a full Scottish Breakfast for two adults served in the Loch side conservatory.

6 miles from the hotel is a stunning forest drive. Taking you from one valley over the top of hills down in to Loch Awe. The views from the top are breathtaking.

A viewing wildlife hide, stocked with binoculars and note pads, overlooking Loch Sidheannach, can be found half way round the drive. The small Loch packed with comings and goings of all sorts of creatures, anything from Otters, Golden Eagles, Ospreys to Damselflies.

Portsonachan Hotel provides mountain bike hire. It is a superb way to take advantage of the stunning countryside and enjoy some healthy exercise whilst on holiday in Scotland.

The Loch lends itself to all sorts of water sports including wind surfing, yachting, canoeing and water skiing.
